Come and meet your military family at Nashville, Tennessee, November 1-4, 2001. Visit with descendants and relatives of veterans of the Old Tenth Brigade. Swap stories, and enjoy learning about your family's history.

For hotel reservations, telephone the Shoney's Inn Music Valley Hotel direct and state that you are registering for the "24th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment Descendants' Reunion." Room nights for this reunion are $70 plus 13.25 percent tax per night. For the convenience of air travelers, the hotel provides free courtesy shuttle service from the Nashville Airport to the hotel.

Itinerary, Friday, November 2, 2001


At Friday morning's reception in Nashville, meet new friends and enjoy an overview of the 24th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment's history. Travel to the Nashville Waterfront, the Tennessee State Capitol (Learn about the Union soldier's encounter with Nashville resident Captain William Driver and how the U. S. flag received its famous nickname "Old Glory"), and Andrew Jackson's Hermitage, just as the veterans did during the American Civil War.


Itinerary, Saturday, November 3, 2001


On Saturday morning, visit Murfreesboro's Courthouse Square, the Railroad Station, and Oaklands Historic House Museum where the Tenth Brigade camped in July and August, 1862. In the afternoon, tour Stones River Battlefield and see in person where the Tenth Brigade veterans fought their best battle. As time permits, travel to Woodbury, Tennessee, to see the Cripple Creek campsite. Also, view the battle where the Tenth Brigade bested Confederate General John Hunt Morgan's cavalry. In the evening, enjoy a dinner program and exhibits about the Old Tenth Brigade.



On Sunday, November 4, 2001, depart for home.
