Melt one stick margarine in a baking dish.
In a bowl mix:
1 Cup sugar
1 Cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
3/4 Cup milk
Pour mixture over melted margarine. Do not stir! Pour I can pie cherries over this, still not stirring. Pour over the cherries 3/4 cup sugar. Do not stir! Bake at 325 degrees for one hour. Serve warm or at room temperature. Good with ice cream.
