1-1/3 boiling water
1 C quick oats

Mix and let stand until you mix the cake.

1/2 c shortening
1 c brown Sugar
1 c white Sugar
2 eggs
2 c flour
1/2 t cinnamon
1 t soda
1/2 t salt

Mix all together and bake at 350 degrees for 35 min.

TOPPING

6 T butter
1/4 c hot milk
1 t vanilla
1/2 c brown Sugar
I c nuts or cocnut

Mix and spread over baked cake and put under broiler until it bubbles and browns.
