Welcome to the virtual home of the Shire of Emerald Keep located in Waco Texas. We are the southernmost shire of the Central Region of the Kingdom of Ansteorra, within the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA).
The SCA is a worldwide group which tries to celebrate and recreate what we call the "better parts of the Middle Ages", more specifically in a period of time from about 600A.D to 1600 A.D. We have a wide range of activities from making clothes, food (or anything else in period) to Bardic arts and poetry, to light or heavy combat, always in the spirit of chivalry and courtesy. Whether you're a serious student of history who wants some "hands on" experience or just like boppin' people with sticks in the park on weekends, There is something for everyone in the SCA.
