"Since time began there has never been a conscientious objector in the war between
the sexes." -- Dorothy Shay |
This page is a labor of love. If you have links to share,
or more information about the career of Dorothy Shay, please sign the guestbook or e-mail me! Keep checking back...much much more to come!! |
How did I become interested in Dorothy Shay? My dad used to say Dot was what he would call a "great broad" ...funny, and fun to be with. Never a dull moment with Dot. How did Dad know??To Dad, Dorothy Shay was also known as "Aunt Dot," his mother's talented little sister--and Dad's favorite relative (mine too!) Aunt Dot also ended up being my godmother. As such, I've become sort of the family's self-appointed historian and archivist when it comes to this "great broad." This web page seems like a very natural outgrowth of that. She was quite a gal, and I hope a new generation of fans will discover Dot's country charm and city-slicker wit. |

Martí Brom, a rockabilly singer from Austin, has drawn inspiration for her recent album from Aunt Dot's old standard, but includes great songs by other artists as well. |
