BELVEDERE BULLETIN

Our monthly meeting held October 8 was the election meeting. Only
7 members showed up, 3 of which were officers. We are assuming that
the same 3 will retain their positions.

I reserved a room at Guerrazzi’s for our Christmas party.
Everyone seemed to have a good time there last year. The date is
December 13th at 6:30pm; eat at 7:30pm. We had to put down a deposit
and have only until November 8th to cancel, if necessary. We need 30
people to be able to hold the party there. The cost is $11.95 per
person, plus an 18% gratuity and sales tax, for a total, by my
calculations, of $14.95. The menu, I picked, 3 entrees: Baked Chicken,
Barbecued Spareribs, and Pasta al Forno. A Dinner salad, Au Gratin
potatoes and Chocolate sheet cake are, also, on the menu. All drinks,
with the exception of coffee, are extra. Because we will have to pay
for 30 people regardless, I will need a firm count of people and the
money by November 7th. Please, checks only, in the event that we don’t
get enough going, we can shred the checks and notify you accordingly.
I know this is short notice, but if we don’t do it this way, the club
will be responsible for the total cost of 30 people.

Not too much news of interested this month, lots of people have
put their cars away or have been busy with fall chores, us included.
Roy did paint his pole barn floor and of course had to paint a big
Pentastar in the middle. Mike is busy building a ramp for Valve Cover
Races at next years car show. I think he has been practicing, why I’m
not sure, us women are going to win next year at Petoskey. Bob Kanar
is working on his ’69 Dart, hoping to get the runs that the car is
capable of. His daughter, Jennifer, as been racing their ‘70 Sport
Satellite. Her goal this year was to make at least one pass at
100+ MPH, which she did. I’m not positive on the ET, but I’m thinking
it was in the 13.40-50 range. Go, Speed Racer, Go!! Sunday three cars
went to Rosie’s Diner, west of Greenville, as a destination for a
Color Tour. The food at Rosie’s was good but it seemed to all of us
that the diner itself was not being kept up. Wayne did his best to
keep us off the main roads while trying to avoid Detours. A little
more sunshine would have been nicer, at lease it didn’t rain.

We are planning on only doing a Newsletter every other month for
a while to help on cost saving. We are going to need start-up money
for next years car show. We did receive a Thank You letter from
St. Vincent’s for the $300 contribution we sent them. They are the
first and only charity that have done so.

November meeting is at The Gavel on Nov. 5, December meeting
will be the Christmas Party, with January’s at Guerrazzi’s on the
14th.

SEE YA!!!
