This dog was at the Lawrence County Dog Shelter (not affilited with the Lawrence County Humane Society). Someone saw this dog and felt sorry for it (who wouldn't). She couldn't afford to have the dog groomed and so was advised to contact Gay Wise (treasurer of the Lawrence County Humane Society/dog groomer) and see if she would groom the dog free of charge, which she did.
The first row shows before pictures, the second row shows just the mats after being removed, and the third row shows after pictures. This poor dog must have spent her four years on a chain, not able to escape the mud and filth she lived in. No one cared for her, not even enough to provide basic care. This is so typical of Lawrence County, Ohio where even many officials would say "it's just a dog". They don't seem to be aware that animals feel pain, fear, lonliness...and most other emotions that we as humans feel.
Humans aren't the only species on earth, we just act like it, especially in notorious Lawrence County, Ohio.
Please find out, before the next election, who is willing to make some much needed changes in Lawrence County.
