On the left is an illustration of a collection rake currently being retailed to pet owners as a waste cleanup tool. The basic concept is a series of spring steel tines attached to a collection pan with a long handle. This particular rake was made from aluminum, however, it could also be manufactured in any material with telescopic or wood handles of any length. The tines are without teeth which would obstruct the scoop collection method. The rake is configured with an angular handle to be used in the same way as standard rakes but without the advantage of teeth. This rake was designed for light duty cleanup and would not serve well as a general purpose yard/leaf rake. |
