Kayla's Haven
(perpetual edition)
Thursday 4 July 2002
Hello, friends, it's been a while... In 1997, I began writing HFF, and for nearly a year, I received wonderful, unconditional support from friends, acquaintances and readers. Your faith in me was inspirational, and for that, I am truly grateful. My original site, Kayla's Haven (and its descendent Angel On The Run), was taken down in late '98, after various rites of passage in life (blah blah, you know how it goes! *g*) ceased my desire to continue writing HFF. After some thought, now in 2002, I wish to leave my stories online. Perhaps it's conceited of me to think that anyone would want to read this drivel (!!), but all I can offer in thanks to those of you who helped increase my confidence in my writing are the pieces that your support has inspired me to create. Contained herein are old stories, both complete and incomplete, both previously released and previously unreleased. Please be aware that the material here at this site contains much teeniebopperism, juvenile content, some mature content, and an infinite amount of cheesiness - so help me, I was young and foolish then! ;-) All materials not written by others are © me. I do not know how often this site will be updated. As I find old pieces that were intended for release (someday), I will put them up here. Might even finish some, coz unfinished things kinda suck a little. This is by no means a complete collection. Some unfinished works are too sparse to publish. a few thanks Completed Stories Return To Innocence - OMG! How embarassing! The first official finished HFF. Very teenie. ^^; To think, this story all started with a bottle of shampoo! Agggghhh... How embarassing... -.-;; Moonbop - Another early story. Embarassing still, but I'm quite proud of it too. I think this is the story for which I received the most feedback. This was intended to be the first installment of a trilogy. Although I no longer write HFF, I'm very tempted to complete the trilogy. Gotta Have Faith - Another really embarassing piece. And... it's... PINK!! Haha, only read this one if you're in the mood to blush on my behalf!! OMG! O_O Perspective - I'm not ashamed to say I like this one. I was pretty happy with it, and was pleased at the positive feedback I received. Thank you so much, everyone who supported this story! So This Is Love - Short story. Contains violence, swearing and chauvanism. Not that the others don't either, but err... ^^; My English tutor had psychological criticisms, but I think her POV was limited to her own experience. Common Ground - This was taken down within 3 days of being posted online. I wasn't happy with it at the time, I think because I simply wrote it without understanding what I was getting at. Now, years later, I think I finally get it. Dur, slow! His Own Eyes - From the Songbook Collection. A bit sad at the end, but it was more an experiment in style than story. Right Through - Also from the Songbook Collection. One of the more lame stories. Style is choppy, storyline is cheesy. TheRapist - My contribution to the debut edition of Stephen's "Taylight Zone" stories, a collection of horror, thriller and creepy HFF. O.O BOO~! He Was Taylor Hanson - My contribution to the second episode of the "Taylight Zone". It's a bit of a sequel to the "TheRapist" story. A bit more psychological than horror (or at least, tryhard psychological). Behind The Scenes - The very last HFF story completed. Again, a bit tryhard sophisticated. Please note that some of the factual references (eg. law proceedings, NY venues, etc.) may be grossly inaccurate. Incomplete Stories & Snippets Angels of the Apocalypse - Apocalyptic fun-ness. Pre-y2k, no one knew what to expect! Please note that after the events of 9/11, this story may disturb some. Red Flower - Oriental mystique. Had many ideas for this story, but never completed it and can't for the life of me remember them now. Can't really remember what it was about either, and I'm too tired to re-read it. ^^; D'oh. Conversations - A bash at an episodic semi-arthouse weaving. Didn't have enough patience to get past episode 4, though. Taylor Hanson, Private Eye - This was never given a title. The title listed here is simply for the purpose of this collective. Creation - A tryhard "question your existence" type of story. Lesser Angel - Yet another weirdo alternate-reality type story. Please note that after the events of 9/11, this story may disturb some. Lastly... Nexus (my current site) All things © me. |
