2nd March, 2003      Round 14

     We lost vs. Llamasery 5-6

A very good and objective recap from master recapper Lensman, about this

very exciting match. Llamas got more lucky then us, and we are sinking lower.

sad

ND's inactivity shows in a 6-5 loss to the llamas.

ND Starters: Pantau (the almighty), sKink, Zeromus, Nerve Impulse.
Llama Starters: R.O.C.K., Tomatoes, Razar, Mortok.

It started out with a great disorder, soon to become a major lob-game.
Llamas kept together more tightly than ND, and concentrated their fire. ND
on the other hand, were shooting everywhere and playing rather venturistic.
Nerve Impule died twice fast, and with reps. I didn't see the deaths, so
perhaps they were unavoidable. Still, this was a discourage. Razar was
killed once, and R.O.C.K. was stripped of all reps, but not targeted
properly. Zeromus completed a second kill on Tomatoes, but said he feels bad
and was subbed by yours truely. Pan and sKink died in a short time interval
(15:40, 17:40 in the match) and soonafter I had the stupidest repdeath. 5-2
llamas. At this point cose (in spec) started saying how we have no chance.

cose - if you want to criticise the squad it is fine, but during the match
it achieves nothing. It just breaks the team spirit and whatever chance we
had of comeback. And as you saw, we had a comeback. sKink killed mortok and
shortly after I killed Razar - leaving him on last life and setting the
score at 5-4.

cose went in for pantau and tin cup for nerve in an attempt to put the
clutch on. Crunchy subbed for Razar and was our main target. sKink by
himself got Crunchy to lose all his reps, but any further targetting failed.
sKink, stripped of reps, eventually died, 6-4. He then killed Rost (42:00),
6-5, but that was not a win margin. From that moment llamas started running,
and ND were unable to get any further kill.

6-5, so close.

People were very dissapointed after the match and to that I have 3 things to
say:
1. What did you expect? Shiny and Nelson not playing anymore, we lost some
of our offensive edge.
2. Llamasary is not an easy squad as some of you take it. Sure, they aren't
top notch quality, but they are in a good place in the middle.
3. WE DON'T PRAC, and it shows! We should prac targetting and concentrated
fire.

here the e-mail I wrote as recap. I recapper Lensman had a power out so he

did not see all the match....thats why we blame the arabs, since Lens lives in Israel

and can tell stories :)

power out !
at least we can blame the arabs now.

there is not much to recap really if you look at the score 1-12 loss.
since yesterday its official. we suck.
After the match there were some ppl asking how did ND vs Heaven end.
Some ppl were surprised of the outcome.

23th February, 2003      Round 11

     We won vs. Exodus 12-1

To qoute some No Data pilot >easy matches are not even funny any more.

SOme predictors were complaining about this uneven schedule. And yes, its not the first

time we played Exodus, and the score always has been around 12-0 or 12-1.

3 of our starters were the ND bench, included our retired (rusty) ringer Nerve Impulse as sub,

and our semi-retired (dont ask me what that means) Jav-man Tin Cup.

Only fun thing about the match was a 3 man Jav sub. Exodus had their last guy in, so

for the hunt we subbed 3 JAvs in, since Trance already was from the beginning in a Jav.

4 ND JAvs hunting down the last surviver. Nerve Impulse to give the bored audience some action,

and did a "succesfull Kamikaze" run on the last life of the last man standing. succesfull in the meaning

of a thrue Kamikaze pilot - Nerve killed himself and his victim. gg, well planned choke - good trade>

16th February, 2003      Round 10

     We won vs. Master 12-3

Our recapper Lensman missed the match. He was during match afk :)

So I gotta recap from my bad memory. Match started out with a surprising death of Tin Cup.

Looked like a type kill for me. Cose died in his Terrier, I did not see how. 0-2 for Master.

Audience is laughing. But from this point No Data pilots went: "cose>lets play" and so it was.

Master was under pressure and burnt of their reppels fast. Tin Cup died a second time under

strange circumstances (1 v 1 face bomb Tin Cup>Pan, what was that)

However, Tin Cup refused to die out, and it was a clear victory for No Data in the end, after Master

were burnt of their reps and rockets.

9th February, 2003      Round 9

     We lost vs. Fly-NDeath 3-7

I could not make it to the match. The first after years I missed. From the log and what I heard,

we lost due a choke of Nelson. Here the recap from Lensman:

A close one, decided 10 minutes before the end.

ND Starters: sKink, Tin Cup, Nelson, Trance.
FND Starters: Zydeco, Matt, Oscar the Grouch, USS Evader.

Match started with a great ND momentum. ND played aggressive and it payed
off at the beginning - Matt was quickly killed twice. However, from that
moment he played safe and ND was unable to target him.
Zydeco was butning his reps quickly and chaoticsky soon replaced him, in a
spider, without the newbie ref (ROCK) saying anything. Chaotic was soon
killed for a 3-0 lead, 10 minutes into the match.

Nelson got killed once, and Matt, burnt of all reps, was replaced by
indosaurus. ND tried hard to target indo, but he was playing safe and FND
was protecting him. sKink was killed soon, and then Nelson again. 10 minutes
before the end, Nelson died a third time, deciding the match in favor of
FND. From there, ND tried hard to kill indo, but just ended up dying. This
match was very close to being ours, but sometimes people make mistakes, and
this time we made more mistakes while FND got their act together.

26th January, 2003      Round 8

     We lost vs. Dissent 0-12

To be honest, I somehow felt that we will lose this. BUT, never ever I would predict on a 0-12

loss. Dissent is a strong team, no doubt. For the defence of our team : at least, the game was not

taht bad like the score looks like. No slaughter at all or such. Its funny to say this looking at the

score I know. But it was a good game. Ah yes, most important factor probably was, we had the

worst showing ever. Only 5 people showed including me - and I dont count. Vorbis> captains

should not play. Besides me showed, Nerve and Tin Cup - both retired, skink and Zeromus.

So we had 2 retired starters, and me as possible sub, so actually just 2 regular starters :(

However, Nerve and Tin Cup, although not playing a match since some time, played a good game

togheter with skink and Zero. Teamwork was good. There were no other choice then to stick together and try hold off Dissent. Alos, mostly actually we were agressive anuff to push Dissent slowly, but

somehow always somebody died on our side and Dissent pilots just refused to die, even if they were

often in the double digits. Also when Dissent had 0 repps, we did not manage to get a kill.

After the match Lens showed asking if the match is over. He read the time wrong or something.

Cose and Trance came also online when the match already was over. But prolly it would not have change

much, maybe fresh repps, but Dissent played a good game, so did we.....just not good enuff.

gg anyway

19th January, 2003      Round 7

     We won vs. Integral 12-0

don't have the log so this is from memory.

A decisive 12-0 victory.

ND Starters: sKink, Nelson, cose, 1-0romus.
Integral Starters: A Vorlon, DMD, Renegade00, Radon.

ND played tight and stable, pushing Integral around and getting the kills
quite quickly. Cose was playing a burnt shark, and did a good job exploiting
the cloak (although eventually 0-0). sKink and Nelson did most the job with
cose and 1-0romus providing assistance and cover fire. At 9-0, all of ND
"lagged out" and in went Warchild!, mochiko, Nerve, Lens to get the last 3
kills.

There was no real opponent here, this match was easier than most of the
pracs I play on mornings... So let's not have our heads high for Dissent,
who will be a major opponent.

Lens.

Stats (from memory):
sKink 4-0

Phog now has 2 kills on SM, for killing Tin Cup> cose :(

12th January, 2003      Round 6

We won vs. Old Germany 12-2

A smooth 12-2 win.

First, a quote (cose's analysis on Scoremaster): cose> i wont be there so
dont expect me to choke the death

Starters: cose, Lensman, sKink, Zeromus.
OG Starters: Whoever. There was a shark there.

No subbing took place during the match.

Game went quite smooth without any highs or lows. Cose started as weasel and
chokedied twice; Lensman got first kills in AML league ever (I had kills in
IML league $$); OG played reverse & lob; ND tried to push, but it didn't go
so well since sKink was burnt and TC was old farting (i.e. sitting on bench
feeding pigeons); constant team pressure slowly won the match in 25 minutes.

sKink MVP 4-0
Lensman 3-0
Zeromus 3-0
cose 2-2

Where is Nelson? Is he dead? And why did mochiko show up late?
Also, Nerve showed up - honourary mention.

5th January,, 2003      Round 5

     We won vs. Wretcheds 12-3

hi all,

to bad for me Lens missed the matched, so I have to do the recap.

Despite to some negative feelings like "ND is dead" and similar, we had a great showing.
Thanks for all who came for the fun. If I counted right we had 10 people on !

No Data played a solid, brutal and aggressive game on helpless Wretcheds, who barely had time
to catch some breath nor to lob enuff to keep incoming No Data pilots of their ass.
Nelson, Shiny, Zeromus and sKink pushed Treason, Sabre Ace, Perseverance and Lamest Duck
from one corner of the map to the other. Wretched burnt their reps fast, and sometimes even did not have
time to rep and soon the killing was on. Nelson always on the front once went a lil bit to agressive and died.
But soon No Data build a solid lead and for No Data +ND speccers there were no doubt about a sure victory.
After Wretched were down 2 pilots, we wanted to give tepid gametime, who barely had some in teh past.
Unfortunatelly the pilots in had so much fun, nobody wanted to spec, lol. So cose> all spec ! and cose> 4 man sub now.
we gave the poor ref some hardcore subbing job to do. We subed all 4 in at once. The 2 remaining Wretched were running
on a Jav-LAnc turret, so game got a bit boring, but in the end it did not safe them.
Final score 12-2 even if scoremaster is saying 12-3.
Pan´s death did not count since it happened during his freq change.
All of us were in best mood after the first game in the new year, and thats good. We had fun, and thats all that count -
of course, winning is always more fun, hehe.
Wretcheds is just way below ND skill level, and so it was an easy victory, but it was the next important step towards the playoffs,
where we shall meet the real challenge.
So keep showing guys, even to "easy" matches, its good prac. Btw...I hate to easy pracs :)

see you around,
and hopefully in same good mood !

15th Dezember, 2002      Round 4

We lost vs. Liquid Inc. 7-8

A painful 8-7 loss, much (Lens) chokage and much good teamwork.

ND Starters: sKink, Zeromus, Tin Cup, Shiny.
Liquid Inc. Starters: Malmox, Proxy, Rane!, fallim.

Game started with heavy lobbing from both sides, especially us. ND had shaky
teamwork while Liq. Inc. were playing well together. First to die was Tin
Cup, with reps (I think). He played overagressive and got himself cornered.
After dying TC became very pissed and also started answering people in spec.
TC - you are usually a model of stability and calmness - don't let it go
away after a death.

sKink was then thrown out to spec, and returned burnt. I must state that the
subbing options were not bright- I was the first sub -nt-.
Pan was second sub - N T -. Nerve showed but really didn't want to play
(didn't help him).

So sKink was kept inside and played very well. He killed fallim to even the
score 1-1.
Shiny soonafter took a bomb straight to the face without repping, 2-1 Liq.
$Kink then killed Rane!, 2-2.
fallim was targeted and was killed again by TC, 3-2 ND. At this point ND
cooperation started to kick off, and Liq. started getting pushed around.
Pressure was rising on them and they all lost their reps.
Shiny got Malmox to give ND a winning advantage 4-2.
However he was afterwards chokekilled by Rane!, 4-3.
Tak came in for proxy, who was without reps.
Just as LENSMAN came in for Zeromus, TC was killed by a friendly rep. This
was partially TC's fault because he was flying crazy as usual, and nothing
could be done. Also, TC didn't rep. 4-4.
Lensman was playing very safe at start, but played quite bad and started
losing reps. Pan came in for Shiny and lost his reps even faster, and then
kept away from combat, with some lobbing. Then something unfortunate
happened - sKink lagged out for the 3rd time. Nerve was quickly forced to
come in, and played quite well.
Lensman (losing all his reps, the dumbass) and Nerve (burnt) were killed
with seconds between them. 6-4 Liq.
ND had to push, and stupid Lensman chokedied again 7-4. At this point
everyone was certain it was over. sKink> lost anyways.
But he was wrong. Even after Nerve dying again, 8-4, ND was pushing hard.
Nerve took out fallim. 8-5, 3v4.
ND started chasing Liq. Inc. and pushing them hard. Pan killed Rane!, 8-6,
and afterwards he killed Tak ($$ lobbing I guess). 8-7 with 1:30 remaining.
ND started a berserk run to try and squeeze the extra kill. However, all
that happened is that Liq. were repping and repping and repping, and they
won 8-7.

Conclusions:
TC suggested that we play more aggressive, like we did at the end.
I think we need more squadprac, teamwork at the beginning was shaky.
Also, one loss is not the end, we made an effort, next time lets make a
stronger effort.
We lacked Cose and Nelson, two important players that would of made a
difference. Still, this should of been more one-sided.

Pan wrote>

thanks for exiting recap, Lens.

one few things to add from my side.

- Shiny died because his running ICQ screwed him
conclusio : FUCKING TURN OFF FUCKING ICQ, KAZZAA, WINAMP...PORN
DOWNLOADS, etc.....please. thanks.
- from my point of (spec) view, we had way better teamwork then Liquid. 80%
of gametime we were pushing them around. Also we had
a cute rep advantage
- never ever give up before it really is over. also...never ever say in chat
sKink> lost anyways.
actually, there was still a good chance to turn it around the last 90
seconds. Actually, I landed a face bomb on a 0r pilot who alreayd collected
3 prox, and he fucking lived. IMO a lil bit some packet that got lost made
the difference....maybe....
- vs. a lobbing squad, a Jav is a suicide ship. must be flight very
carefully and clever not to sweep the random bombs.
Tin: ever considered to try s wb ? :)
- Our bench (Pan and Lens) needs more playtime for more game experience.
prac is different, and we barely have a 4 ND prac anyway.
The bench in fact is what will decide many matches in the future.
- lets get rid of our choke potential
- rep ?
- IMO, as mentioned before, our teamwork is one fo the best in AML terms.
- that loss was just a chain of to many unlucky events: lag outs, lucky nme
reps, ICQ BITCHES, lack of subs and fianlly....TIME
one thing I Am very very sure about: few minutes more, and we would get
off 2 kills easy with keeping up that huge load of pressure
on the 3 repless, in panic running Liquids.

peace,
I need to get my car repaired, what my gf trashed yesterday :(

8th Dezember, 2002      Round 3

We won vs. ASWZ 5-4 (OT)

A tense OT match ending in our favor.

This game was assigned to 6pm, which is terrible for most ND players, so we
had a low showing.
ND Starters: A tired Shiny, A gassy Zeromus, Old Fart (better known as Tin
Cup), and Nelson.
ASWZ Starters: more majorum, TiReX, poody, auroa.

The match began with the usual trashtalking while newbie ref was learning
how to work. AhmedF demonstrated superb spammage skills. Match begun, and
Nelson was quickly stripped of reps and eventually died. He will never, ever
die so soon again. Ever. For another 10 minutes or so, ASWZ were playing
heavy lobbage, while ND was suprisingly NOT LOBBING. This should be
attributed to Shiny, Tin cup and Nelson, all three are aggressive (read:
crazy) players, and they pushed forward relentlessly, but the match seemed
to go nowhere.
Shiny was pissed at ND not playing very aggressive, but he failed to realise
that: a) ND almost never plays aggressive in matches, and b) with our little
aggressive expirience, versus a lobbing team, we would suffer many deaths.
So, no one was actually listening to Shiny, TC played his usual crazy self
(he can't hear team messages at his old fartish age) and Nelson and Zeromus
played more carefully.
TiReX was killed by TC around 12 minutes into the match. Slowly through the
match, ND was gaining shape, but the ASWZ lobbing cost us reps. 2 minutes
after TiReX, TC killed more majorum. Now advantage was on our side and slow
careful play was required. ND pressure increased and 4 minutes later TiReX
was taken down again, 3-1. xeno.fu came in for him Winning advantage. At
this point, game pace should of been slowed down a little, and ND should of
waited for ASWZ to come charging in, but ND pilots kept playing very
aggressive and, at times, flying solo (especially Nelson) and it took its
toll: Nelson got stripped of all reps and cose came in to sub him, only to
choke amazingly 1 minute later and lose the winning advantage. Cose later
said that he almost esc+q'd that moment, and it's good he didnt, cos his sub
would be a lagsub. :)
Right after that, Zeromus lagged out and ND was under pressure. It was
decided to keep Zeromus inside despite his burn (as his intended
replacement, Lensman, was not to be trusted), and so he was returned burned,
and demonstrated a very responsible gameplay until he was subbed by the same
Lensman, at the 10 minute mark.
The next kill was TC, killed by Auroa. I didn't see the kill and can't
comment about it. Shiny was quickly afterwards taken down by more majorum
and advantage was in the hands of ASWZ again. ND had to get its act together
and move hard on ASWZ. ClutchCose took matters into his hands, killing
Auroa. 4-4. On the 10 minutes mark, a newbie Lensman comes in for Zeromus.
Everyone was worried that he would choke horribely, but he just used one rep
and got repped once and that's about it. ClutchCose, on the other hand,
didn't waste a moment. Almost exactly as the match went into overtime he
killed poody, thus ND won the match.

Stats:
Name: poody Kills: 0 Deaths: 1
Name: TiReX Kills: 0 Deaths: 2 subbed by xeno.fu
Name: Auroa Kills: 1 Deaths: 1

Name: Nelson Kills: 0 Deaths: 1 subbed by ClutchCose
Name: ClutchCose Kills: 2 Deaths: 1

1st Dezember, 2002      Round 2

     We won vs. Integral12-2

I think we played this team long time ago once. And I also think that back then

we won it easy as well.

Here my own e-mail recap:

even some of you were a bit troubled about the unusual late time, we had 7-8 ppl on.
Just Lens came lil late after all was over.

Since Lens was not there a quick recap, since I should be sleeping now already.

I remember we played Integral already. I am to lazy to look the game up now in the archives,
but I remember the score was similar.

End score > 12-2

MVP shiny 4-0

starters> skink, Trance, Zeromus, Shiny

after 6 minutes we killed the first Integral pilot, OUT, actually e-one got TKed, by a mighty

Cerium Levi bomb.

So after 6 minutes it was 4-3 and since Integral already played with an nts (Cerium - ex ND player)
the killing got even faster. Some minutes later the next Integral pilot died out. 4-2.
To bad I forgot to look up how long the game was, but for sure it was one of the fastest ever.
gg.
ah yes, I almost forgot, the 2 deaths were both skink's :)

side note:
since Dark sword once more behaved like a moron, I decided to ?squadkick him.
I think nobody will miss him, and I think all of you wont wonder much why he got kicked.

ok, gotta go to bed now.

That is most important thing. Pan had a leet 0-1 before being subbed by
Shiny (3-1).
cose played well (leet 0-0) and got subbed by borAX (2-0 + stealing mvp from
shiny).
Nelson choked (ez), and Zauruz was leet (unez).

Other notable occurances:
Tin's sister is hot, and she wants to cyber with all of ND. I blame her for
Nel's choke, how can you concentrate when hot croatian chick is typing "$$"?

replaced by Dark^Sword. Kurtz was brought to last life soon enough, and
later on also Sephiroso, but neither was targetted heavily by our pilots.
Nelson subbed sKink, Zeromus subbed Tin Cup, cose lagsubbed Dark^Sword on
his last life with 0 reps. naturally, cose was placed as target and was the
first to be taken out. IMO, he played well and is not to blame for this
death. There is always room for improvement, but cose performed adequately.
Later on, Nelson and afterwards Zeromus were taken out.
The real animal on the playing field was Shiny, who took it all the way to
the bitter end. Shiny played extremely well and it is too bad that our
teamwork is not finetuned yet, or he could lead good offensives. I suggest
more squadpraccing during the week.

Aftermath:
* More practice, focus on teamwork and targetting.
* Made some conclusions regarding who should play when and with who (most of
you know what I am aiming at... But I won't share it in the email).
* Good spirits will keep us running :)

Lensman.
P.S. No statistics until reg. season.

     We lost vs. Idiosyncrazy

AML pre-season 8

pre seasin 1st round

we lost vs the last seasons finalist.
Idiosyncrazy got talent and skill, but so does No Data.
borAX called it tankage and they "should die". Some other people also
claimed that some Idio pilots ignored some hits. But for me this argument
does not count much. Agreed, it sucks, but should not be the reason to die.
Was dissucssed and agreed upon several times, that we just dont have to risk
a 1 on 1 gun duel against a known lagger. We got some nice kills out of effective
teamwork, then again we got some dubm deaths, and then we got some bad teamwork
partly. Idio burnt they repps good, but we died with repps *hint hint*
The match does not count , and was the first after a long brake. So nothing to worry about.
