COORDINATOR'S CORNER As some of you know this is where I get to "rat out' some nervous wrecks with regard to diving related hi jinx. Mike Kelly is in line for a scholarship for a refresher course as the first diver in club history to miss a wreck that the dive boat was moored to. Also for finding the most unique way to loose a weight belt that he actually surfaced with. It seems Mike attached it to the dive platform while in the water and forgot about it. Our club prez. Donnie, the fish, Flood gets the award for boat entry that most looked like he needed a rescue. His entry was so "unique" that one of the rescue divers on board jumped in to save Donnie. On the positive side Donnie was this years recipient of the Terry Rose Award as the club member who most contributed to our club in the past 200/2001 season, Donnie was particularly honored to receive this award as he and Terry were good personal friends. Lastly this year say 2 club Drift Diving Contests in the Bras D'Or gut. The first was won by Bill Hearn and Pam Ellsworth however accusations of "irregularities prompted a second running. Ron "the Sea Snake' New combe and Glen MacLeod were victorious which means a grudge match for next year. This ends my 2001 ratting out hope you all enjoyed it we are planning a lot more contests, for club members, next year. I'll be diving over the holidays all are welcome. Yours in Safe Diving, Ken Greetings Fellow "Wrecks" 2001 has been a great year for diving and for the Nervous Wrecks Dive Club. The weather has been, and still is fabulous for local diving. Our "Go For Gold" fund raiser was the best ever. There were a lot of great Club Dives and parties. I was fortunate enough to dive with many new club members, visitors from other parts of Canada and the U.S.A., and of course our regular long time club members. I had some great dives with Harvey Morash up until mid September when the wedding bells were ringing. He was a great dive buddy I don't miss his used dive gear sale. The year is not over, and neither is the dive season (It never ends). There should be a few more good parties and some excellent dives. If I don't see you before hand, have a great holiday, and we will see you all at our January meeting so we can start planning an even better 2002 dive calendar. Good Diving, Donnie Flood , President
