| Types of Daycare |
| Group Daycare Homes: Are licensed homes that provide care for more than (7) seven to (12) children younger than 14 years of age.There must be (2) two adults in the home at all times. Most group homes maintain a capacity of (12) twelve children.The provider's own children and the assistants children must be count in the ratio.Daycare parents not employed by the provider do not count as an assistant or, as employees. Registered Family Homes: Are providers caring for children in their residence.The number of children is determined by the ages.There is a limit of (6)six children under the age of five years.The provider may take in an additional (6) six school age children. However, no more than (12) twelve children may be care for at any given time.The providers own children "must be counted in the ratio". The more infants a provider cares for, the less of the other ages she can take in. Listed Homes: Are home providers that care for (3) three or, less children who are not related to them. A criminal background check is done on each person over (14) years of age."No inspections" of any kind are done.Listed homes are best suited for nanny services Daycare Centers: Are licensed facilities that provide care for a large number of children.There ratio depends on the building capacity. They provide care for children younger than 14 years of age,for less than 24 hours a day.Children are divided into age groups.Centers are best suited for preschoolers and schoolagers. |
