The band started life as a one-off set up to raise money for society funds. All of the members were part of the society for a number of years before discovering that they played enough instruments between them to form what was then called 'The Ceilidh Minogue Band'. Word soon got round that they weren't half bad ! Nine years later has seen the band's name change to 'J. Edgar & the Hoovers' with a string of highly successful gigs under their belts . The band members are still active members of the society but play barn dances, ceilidhs and gigs in their own right. 'J.Edgar & the Hoovers' has it's own website.
