Thursday "War All of the Time"

From For The Work Force Drowning: “Falling from the top floor your lungs fill like parachutes/windows go rushing by. People inside/ dressed for the funeral in black and white. These ties strangle our necks/ hanging in the closet/ found in the cubicle; without a name/ just numbers/ on the resume stored in the mainframe/ marked for delete.”

There are some captivating methods of story telling. And then there is story telling made methodical. THURSDAYS latest release keeps with the hard-core theme, but has a heavier focus on content. M. Shepard, which deals with the attacks on a homosexual student, truly captures the worst side of people (and exploits it). And “Work Force” and Marches and Maneuvers, deal with the savaged fury of war and suffering that we all must endure. A great follow up to full collapse, but slightly on the “radio sell-out” side.
