Golden Sun for Game Boy Advance is an epic adventure in a detailed medieval type world. Gamers explore this world mainly as Issac, a 19-year-old boy from a town called Vale. Issac and his friends are adepts-people who can use a form of magic called psyenergy. Each of them have a controlling element earth, fire wind and water.

The Adepts

Issac: A 19-year-old boy from the town of Vale. He is the leader of the party. His element is Earth.

Garet: Issac and Garet grew up together in Vale. Garet is 19-years-old and very "outgoing" yet irritational His element is fire.

Ivan: Ivan is 15-year-old orphan from Kaylay. He joins your party when byou help him find a special staff. His element is wind.

Mia is from the village of Imil. She is a descendent of the ancient people who guard the Mercury lighthouse. Her personality is like that of Ivan's. She is an export of the water element.

The Plot

As in most RPGs, the goal Golden Sun is to stop an evil person (4 to be exact) from taking over the world. Besides that, you also need to recue the elder Kraden and Garet's friend Jenna whom they have kidnapped. Also, like most RPGs, Issac and his party undergo sidequests while hunting down the evil kidnappers.

My Opinion

Golden Sun is fantastic from every angle. The graphics are brightly colored and wonderfully detailed. It has a good plot and the music doesn't get tiring. Golden Sun is a fresh, unique, RPG. Unlike any RPG I've played, in Golden Sun, you don't learn new magic or psyenergy. Instead, you gain new psyenergy by combining elemental spirits called Djini. There are Earth Djini and Fire Djini. In the game, the 2 elements of the Djini are referred to as planets.

The fire djini are called Mars, water and ice are called Mercury, wind are called Jupiter and Earth are known as Venus. The djini are super cute and super powerful. You can set djini to gain new psyenergy or you can put them on standby to summon powerful elemental allies.

How does the Golden Sun rank? The best! Golden Sun is truly Golden.
