| By: Griff Rees Twisted Metal Black is a good game that really lives up to its expectations. Great controls, a pretty good soundtrack, and some weird ass cinematics make this game a must for all Twisted Metal fans (and gothic people). Just don't complain that it's to short with codes, you code using sucker!!! Gameplay Twisted Metal Black has the same frantic, fast paced gameplay that is signature of all the Twisted Metal games. One great addition to this game is the skill it takes to fire some weapons. While in Twisted Metal 1 and 2 homing missiles were your main weapons, TMB gives the addition of more non targeted weapons. There weapons are more powerful and often boast a damage bonus. The multiplayer in TMB is still as good as ever, pitting your self against your friend or working with them. The multiplayer in this game is very attractive with full levels and the network possibilities with the PS2 network adaptor. Visual The graphics in TWB have improved a lot from previous games. Better particle effects in conjunction with highly detailed sprawling levels and an inherent darkness give this game an evil edgy feel. Another great addition to this game is the excellent environmental effects. From rain to waves to lightning virtually every level can be interacted with. Cinematics TMB has truly harnessed the power of the PS2 with their ominous cinematics. Every character has their own twisted explanation of their sick fucked up lives. With 3 cinematics for each character, there are lots of stories to keep up with. Lasting Appeal This game has lots of lasting appeal. Not only is there a great one player that will have you coming back again and again, but there is also great multiplayer that can settle disputes (among other things). I myself have been playing this game often over a year, when Iâ€ll usually drop a game after 3-6 months. Sound TMB has a good soundtrack. All you Satan worshippers out there may actually like it. The explosions, machine guns, etc. sound great and really add a lot to the game. I the sound effects in this game sucked, it wouldnâ€t be worth it. Controls For all you Twisted metal fans, youâ€ll have no problem with re-mastering the controls. For me (TMB was my first Twisted Metal game) it took a while to get the controls down pat. The default accelerator, â¡, is placed really great. A lot of people may over look this but you can hold that gas with the top of your thumb, while hitting x, the tight turn button with your lower thumb. That is what really impressed me with the controls.
