Get Ready for the 2002 Downtown Hoedown

The Budweiser Downtown Hoedown is coming to Detroit on May 17-19 at Hart Plaza. The annual event is recognized as the largest FREE country music festival in the world.

This year the show features 13 artists, one more than last year. Of those, Aaron Tippin, George Jones, Steve Holy and Tracy Byrd. For the complete schedule of stars, click here.

This year the hoedown is sponsored by Budweiser and Farmer Jack like every other year. Some of the other sponsors include Pepsi and Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort. The official radio sponsor of the hoedown is 99.5 WYCD. Anyways, 102.9 W4 Country is still promoting the hoedown. As you all know, W4 Country was the former host of the hoedown before they changed dial positions.

Last year, over one million people attended the Budweiser Downtown Hoedown. This year, there should  be more people since both country stations in Detroit are promoting the event. As you might expect, AmericaJR Online will be there.

You should remember to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Some days can be hot with the sun blazing on you so don't forget your sun tan lotion. You should bring money to buy water or other beverages so you will not be dehydrated from the heat.

Some items that are not allowed at the hoedown include pets, alcohol, video camera, bottles, cans and coolers.
