Hilary
Duff. She's been on Lizzie McGuire. She's been in the
movies. She's made some CDs. Yesterday, the teen superstar
along with her sister, Haylie rocked the Palace of Auburn
Hills.
First, our
local hit music station, 93.1 DRQ had a table on stage.
A DJ was spinning music for the crowd. I don't know
why this was happening maybe they were trying to get
more listeners.
The stage
was set up on one end of the Palace. The other end was
for people to sit. It was not in the middle like for
some concerts.
Haylie Duff
came on first. She sang four songs. I don't know any
of them because she doesn't have a CD out yet. It was
hard to hear her at all because of all the little girls
screaming.
Then, there
was about a 20 minute intermission.
Hilary Duff
came on next. She opened up with the song "Girl
Can Rock." She was the best. I could not believe
this was the moment I was waiting for. She sang all
her famous songs including "Why Not?", "Come
Clean," and "So Yesterday." The only
song that she didn't do was "Sweet Sixteen."
Duff also
sang about three songs from her new album. It will be
released on September 28, 2004. As of this moment, she
hasn't named it yet. It was amazing. Almost everyone
was standing from when she came on until she left. People
were screaming, dancing and just havin a good time.
How many
people are on TV, movies and in the music business.
I can only think of one name, Hilary Duff. Look for
a new movie from Hilary in October!!
After she
was done, there was a 5 minute break. Then, Haylie came
out to join her sister on stage. They sang the song
"Our Lips are Sealed" from the soundtrack
to "A Cinderella Story." They did an awesome
job.
Then, Haylie
went away. Hilary came back to sing two more songs.
I'm not sure if they were new songs because I didn't
recognize them.
There was
so many souvenirs to buy at this concert. The most I've
ever seen. There was about 10 different kind of T-shirts
that you could buy. There was a 2005 calendar, purse,
and about five posters.
You could
also buy an autographed picture that came in a frame.
There was lightsticks. People were waving them during
the show. There was also lanyards with a little Hilary
Duff ID badge.
In addition,
there was a spot for you go get your picture next to
a Hilary statue. It was made of paper but it looked
just like her. You could stand there and they would
take your picture and print it right there in like a
minute.
The souvenirs
didn't stop when you left the building. Along the road
to I-75, people were selling more Hilary T-shirts! I've
never seen so much fan appreciation.
I bought
a T-shirt that has Hilary Duff's picture on the front
and the Most Wanted Tour scheduled on the back. It was
$30.00. I also bought an autographed picture which came
in a frame for $5.00.
If you get
the opportunity to see Hilary Duff, take it! You will
thank me. She is the best singer in the world. You will
cry when its over. She is that good.
Hilary
Duff..Thank you for coming to Detroit!!
