STACK and Ben Snubbed?

by Fresh S

With the NBA all-star game approaching this Sunday, February 10th pistons fans feel un-respected. On January 29th, the NBA coaches picked the reserves for the all-star teams. Pistons fans were surprised to learn that neither Jerry Stackhouse nor Ben Wallace were picked.

Stackhouse: the leader. Before the season started, the pistons were predicted to be well below .500 and likely unable to get a playoff bid. As of right now, the pistons are 5th in the eastern conference, and a big part do to the play of Jerry Stackhouse. He is averaging a team best 23.5 pts, and dishing out 5 plus dimes a night, also leading the pistons. Stack is also leading the pistons in FT%. He is shooting nearly 88% from the stripe. Here is what Jerry had to say: "I would have liked to have had that opportunity. But I'm still happy about our situation. I would much rather be able to go to the playoffs and have a chance to shine in the playoffs than to be an All-Star like I was last year and be sitting at home watching the playoffs."

Ben Wallace: the unsung hero. Ben Wallace with his big afro and cornrows, has become a fan favorite at the Palace. Big Ben is one of the most hardworking men in the NBA. At 6'9'', Wallace is accustomed to playing bigger Centers in the league. Even though undersized, he hasn't let that slow him down. Ben is averaging nearly 12 boards a game and leading the league with 3 plus blocks a night. Add in the 1.64 steals, and the things that stats don't show. Ben alters many shots throughout the game and is a HUGE presencse in the paint. Every team in the NBA would love to have him.......ASK Me>>>HE is an All-Star. "He got robbed. Quote me on that, he got robbed." -PF Brian Cardinal about C Ben Wallace not being named to the All-Star team.
Watch for the pistons to continue to play hard and finish the season strong.
