Pistons: CLINCH A Berth
by Jatt under the influence
For the first time since 1998, the Detroit Pistons will return to the playoffs. The Pistons have a record of 45-30 as of April 4th and have a 5.5 game advantage on the Milwaukee Bucks for the Central Division lead.
Once again, the Pistons have been anchored by the inside presence of Ben Wallace. Wallace is now leading the league in not only blocks but also rebounds. If he stays at the top in both of those categories, he will join only 4 other men to do so: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Walton, Hakeem Olajuwon, Bill Russell. That is amazing company.
The Pistons have 7 games remaining in the regular season. At: Philly, Jerzey, and Chicago. Home against: Atlanta, Chicago, San Antonio, and Milwaukee. Hope the pistons go 5-2 in these games and get a 50 win season. Ben Wallace should easily win defensive player of the year the way he has been playing. Don't be surprised if he gets a vote or two for league Most Valuable Player for the job he has done for the Pistons.
Former Fab Fiver from the University of Michigan Chris Webber returned to the Palace to face the pistons. Pistons were blown out 107-86. Pistons had an awful start, losing 37-16 after one quarter. The only good out of this game was rookie Rodney White got to see some action. White played 15 minutes and got 4 pts to go with 2 brds, 2 stls, and 1 asts.
Playoffs are approaching!!
