The oppenent is the Toronto Raptors. The first two games were at the pistons Palace of Auburn Hills. The raptors came into the playoffs with a big surge to end the year.  Could they carry it over the the playoffs and beat the 2nd ranked pistons?

GAME 1: Before the game started, the NBA gave pistons forward Ben Wallace the Defensive Player of the Year award. The sold out palace would not be dissapointed by the game ben played. The game started off extremely defensively.  The raptors were held to just 9 points in the first quarter.  Pistons however, also struggled to put up points in the first quarter.  Through the third quarter, the pistons pulled a strong lead and would eventually win the game.  Final Score: Pistons 85 Raptors 63. Player of the Game: Ben Wallace had 19 points to go along with 20 rebounds. Pistons take a 1-0 game lead in the best of 5 series.

GAME 2: Before the game, another piston was presented with an award. Corliss Williamson the NBA's SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR award given to the best bench player in the league. This was the first player in pistons franchise history to win the award. This game, the raptors came out shooting a lot better. The teams sea-sawed through out the first three quarters. In the fourth quarter, Jerry Stackhouse took control of the game. Late in the game, Stack made big shots including three from beyond the arc that gave the pistons the lead going into the final minutes. The raptors could not come back as the pistons won a close one, 96-91.  Player of the game: Jerry Stackhouse had a game high of 31 pts and was extremely clutch in the last few minutes. He showed why he is the team leader.

Sacremento. vs Utah: Series tied 1-1
Dallas vs Minnesota: Dallas up 2-0
LA Lakers vs Portland: LA up 1-0
San Antonio vs Seattle: Series tied 1-1

New Jersey vs Indiana: Series tied 1-1
Charlotte vs Orlando: Series tied 1-1
Boston vs Philadelphia: Boston up 1-0
DETROIT vs Toronto: Detroit up 2-0

Wrap up: THe pistons need to win one of the next three games against the raptors to win the series.  This will be the first series that Detroit has won since 1991, the year after the pistons were league champions.  In the second round, pistons will match up against boston of philly, having home-court advantage against either team.
