Let
the Season Begin
by
Steve Gralewski
After a
terrible pre season, in which the Red Wings went 2-7-1. I had the
privilege of attending the Red Wings first win of the pre season
vs. Boston. It was a fun filled game in which the Wings took a 4-0
lead at the end of the first, a 6-0 lead at the end of the second,
and a final 9-0 win at the end of the game. The Red Wings also won
their next game.
The Red
Wings have many new players, with the return of some older ones.
The new players include Center Jiri Hudler, Left Winger Ray Whitney,
and Defensemen Darian Hatcher and Niklas Kronwall. The return of
Dominik Hasek also complicates Ken Holland's life, as he has to
deal with Curtis Joseph, the highest paid goalie on the team. No
one has picked up Joseph in the waivers draft, however the Washington
Capitals and New York Rangers are still looking for a number one
goalie.
Tonight
look for Sergie Federov and J.S. Gigure on ESPN and see how our
old pals are doing!
First Regular
Season game is HOME tomorrow (Thursday) at 7:30pm on ESPN2 and Fox
Sports Net Detroit.
