About
Myself
- I was born in the
night of 11th November 1978 in
Delhi's St. Stephen's Hospital.
According to the Hindu calendar,
that day was Ekadashi ( meaning
the eleventh day in traditional
Hindu calendar). So my mother
prays for me that day, as she
considers it to be my birthday
too. That makes two celebrations
of a single occasion!
-
- Hey.....! Did you
notice, my date of birth in the
format hh/dd/mm is 11/11/11. That
is to say, my birth date was in
the eleventh hour of eleventh day
of eleventh month of 1978. Isn't
that interesting? And that's
eleven by both the Gregorian
calendar as well as the
traditional Hindu Calendar !
-
- I was an introvert
till some time back.....must've
been around one year..... I never
shared my feelings with anybody
else.....except with my best friends . But then there
was a complete change in
me....within a few days.....and I
converted myself to a complete
extrovert. I think it's better to
be an extrovert than to be an
introvert.......it's better to
bring out your feelings if
they're not bad.
-
- I don't get angry
very easily. I have lost my
temper just once since I left
school. Well, doctors have to be
like that if they're to be called
good doctors.
-
- I was too shy in my
childhood - most children, in
fact, are. I still remember the
floor of my old home which had
yellow marble lines, which I used
as roads for my toy trucks and
cars. I still remember the
neighbors (although they must
have changed greatly in
appearance and thought by now)
and my childhood friends....some
of whom I might not be able to
recognize now if I meet them in
unexpected situations.
-
- I also remember the
first school that I went to. That
was about two and a half
kilometers from my home. Once I
walked all through the way to my
home from the school since the
bus did not arrive in time....

-
- That day I received a severe
scolding from my mother when a friend
told her of the incident. Near my home
was a park, which had very little grass
at any time of year, and was mostly a
paradise for cricket players. I still
remember the amazement I got when I first
saw a talking parrot near the tea-stall
at the corner of the street. Those days
are history, but they're too pleasant to
forget. Childhood never returns, you
know.
-
- As far as school is
considered, I've always been an achiever.
There were teachers who wished to devote
their time to me...they admired me
much...they motivated me much...and they
liked me much. Those teachers are the
ones one would never forget. But now I've
lost touch with most of them. I guess
I'll meet them incidentally
someday...someway....
My
Family
- Family is a group of people
usually related by blood to each other,
and sharing a common kitchen....this is
all what I remember of the complete
definition of family.
-
- There are six of us in my
family. I've got parents too good to
describe in written language. I've got
two younger brothers, and a little
sister. I'm the eldest of all my
siblings. I have very little verbal
interaction with my brothers and father
for strange and unknown reasons even I am
not aware of, but the case is not so with
my sister and mother. Overall we're a
good Indian family.
- I like my mother's family
more than my dad's. The reason, still
unknown. Maybe boys are more attached to
mother, and girl to their father - this
is what I can guess.
My
Friends
- The world is mud without
friends. Friends let it grow lotuses.
Friends are forever. I believe in
Universal Friendship - that is - All are
friends until and unless proved
otherwise. I have no enemies except,
perhaps, myself.
- I never had more than three
good friends at any point of time in my
life so far, but three good friends do
mean something. That means you have three
lives who think of you...who care for
you... and who are ready to do anything
for you. This is what I'd explain as the
definition of a friend to a common human
being.
-
- My best friend is my
mother...who is my real God. She's the
woman who spends sleepless nights when
I'm outta home, she's the one who fulfils
my needs without I having to make a
request or order, and she's the one who
guides me when I'm off the way. Any man
who has made his mother his best friend
can only achieve one thing - SUCCESS.
Take it from me, and apply it to your
life. You'll see the results soon.
-
- My next best friend is - Me
myself. I was born alone, and I'll die
alone. Nobody was born to accompany me.
I'll have to lead my own life.... maybe
solitary...but not necessarily lonely.
You know yourself more than others do, so
you can be your best friend. If
you are, you are more likely to judge
yourself selflessly and, in that case,
you're less likely to give yourself
trouble. Have you ever tried to talk to
yourself in your mind? Try talking to
yourself for a few minutes - thinking of
yourself as another person independent of
your real being. Talk to that imaginary
image of yours as if it were right in
front of you...imagine you talking to
yourself who is standing in front of
you...Then you'll know what meditation
means: Independent assessment of one's
own being.
-
- The next in line are the
"Normal" friends. There are
three that I'll never forget: Those three
have been my classmates at different
times in school. We were not a group
until sometime back, when I thought to
arrange for all the three of them, and
me, to meet at a place. That's called
Synchronization of Friends. From then on,
each one of them has got two extra best
friends. One sings well and is also
interested in some serious "
Sher-o-shairee"; one is doubly
romantic than normal Indian males and is
the purest at heart whom I've ever seen,
and the third is a home-confined bird who
is struggling to regain his
self-confidence. I love these three.
Their names appear in the Credits
section. Guess who are they.......they're
all males, because I studied in a boys
school.
-
- To this friends' list must
be added two more names. The first name
is that of somebody nicknamed
"Cony". I first met her while
chatting over the internet. We're very
good friends...but she doesnt want
to meet me personally since she's
married! The second name is that or Renu
- whom I met during my Institute Festival
- Pulse 2000. She's a real dear.
-
- In addition to these seven
people, I have many more names to say,
but they'll flood the screen that you're
currently staring at. Those are like gems
in my life. I salute all my friends!
