Published Results of Clinical Trials
There are to date two published results from clinical trials
involving the use of antineoplastons to treat brain tumors.
-
In 1995, a
toxicological study of antineoplastons
was conducted in
Japan. They were found to be less toxic than most other
chemotherapy regimes. Of 42 patients, 32.6% showed shrinkage
or disappearance of their tumor during the first month of treatment.
17.4% of the patients had no increase in tumor size for 3 months.
-
In 1999, a
study was performed at the Mayo clinic
evaluating patients with recurrent glioblastoma multiforme or
anaplastic astrocytoma grade III who had previously been treated with
radiation. Of the 9 patients evaluated, none showed tumor regression.
