The Black Manta can hover up to 100 miles from its target, collecting photographs and eavesdropping-Janes Defence Weekly
There have been many sightings of a triangular craft with rounded wing tips flying over Groom Lake. This craft is one of the Governments newest "black budget" aircrafts called the TR-3A Black Manta. This bat-winged stealth is a cross between the F117A and B-2. The TR-3A is a tacticle reconnaissance plane that is a follow-up on the F-117A Stealth Fighter.
This Northrop aircraft could possibly have been used during the Gulf War. The TR-3A was designed to collect and transmit digital photo information directly to the F117A for immediate tactical applications. The TR-3A has a range of 3100 miles and can operate at both low and high altitudes.
I believe that the TR-3A and the Aurora both exist and are being used on different projects for the Government. Even though the Government denies such planes exist, we must remember that this is the same government that denied even having a stealth fighter. It will probably be another twenty years before the Government goes public with the Black Manta. When they decide to go public, there will be much better high tech secret aircraft for us to find out about.
