(A protest against those drug and health-care companies who are
ripping off and harming the public, corporate thieves and polluters,
and all the politicians and other sycophants who do their bidding)

Bobby Cain was a quarterback
Till he injured his knee.
They gave him pills to kill the pain
But the pills just brought him misery.
Then they took the drugs away
So he robbed a pharmacy.
Now he's serving seven years
In the penitentiary
For bad medicine.

Tony came from a bad part of town.
The world just got him down.
It got so bad he just couldn't live
Without a shot of brandy to wash it down.
So they sent him to a shrink
Who prescribed with pen and ink
The roller-coaster ride
That leads to suicide
From bad medicine.

Maddie Gates ran an orphan's home.
She gave her life to the poor.
When she got sick her kids all cried
Cause her health insurance wouldn't pay no more.
She just couldn't afford the pills
So she prayed unto her Lord
That night she left this world
Cause the Saints just can't afford
Bad medicine.

Caroline tried to lose some weight
Till she got so ill.
One pill led to another pill
Till a judge said: "Lady, you're a criminal."
She threw away her dreams
For a needle and a spoon.
Now she's locked inside her mind
And she's howling at the moon
For bad medicine.

Hey Mr. Politician Man,
You like to talk so tough.
These corporations that bought your soul
Just never get enough.
Now they sell their snake-oil cures
Where the rivers run with waste.
Their billboards fill the sky
Where the air has got the taste
Of bad medicine.

Someday the rain will fall like grace
When the earth gets well,
And the CEO's have all packed their bags
For Corporation Hell.
And we'll drink from Eden's streams
And breathe the pure spring air.
Where heaven meets the earth,
We'll live without a care.
And no bad medicine.
