The VE Valiant
![]() 1967 was the date that the VE was introduced, it had a different body styling, it was actually very similar in body shape to the American Dodge Dart. It was larger than the VC, performance and HP were improved in this model by using a 2 barrel carb with the 225 HEMI, the 225 and V8 models were revised and improved for higher performance. This includes new extra saftey features including front seatbelts, double line brakes with tandem master cylinder and power disc brakes on all V8 models. Came 4 door sedan or station wagon or 2 door utility, power steering. Final stages of the VE's development were overseen by Chrysler Australia's new chief engineer, Walt McPherson who was head of Chrysler's proving ground in Detroit untill he moved to Australia. the VE came in a 4 door sedan (standard, Regal or VIP), a 4 door S/W (standard, Regal or VIP) or a 2 door ute.
