Mermaid Amulet Bag

First of all, my sincerest apologies about the pictures. It was very hard to get a picture of this one that showed the detail, due to the finishes of the beads and the glare. This bag was stitched using the tubular peyote stitch. The pattern is of a mermaid sitting on a rock.  She is holding a seashell bead, and her tail-fin extends into the fringe. The bag features glass seedbeads, mother of pearl beads, various glass accent beads, seashell beads (hand drilled by yours truly), and fresh water pearls. The back of the bag was stitched with the blue beads. (the pattern does not continue onto the other side) The tassles on this bag were made to remind one of a mermaid and her "treasures". I made this bag for "me"....as i had yet to make a bag specifically for me, and with my love of mermaids, it just fit. If you'd like a better idea of the pattern, please see the patterns page.
