RIGHT WORTHY BROTHER LESLIE JOHN KEANE
I was born in Townsville in August 1943 and have resided here all of my life. Upon completing my education at Scholarship level I commenced work in the automotive spare parts industry which led to a career path in this field lasting some 48 years up to this present time.
After 5 years in automotive spares I moved into the heavy duty truck and mining area and achieved several management positions including two as Branch Manager which eventually led to operating my own business for six years. I married my wife Irene in 1965 and we have three grown children and two grand children.
My Masonic involvement commenced when I was Initiated into Hibernia and Albion Star Lodge No.15 United Grand Lodge of Queensland in 1972. I am also a Foundation Member of Harmony Daylight Lodge No. 530 and hold the Grand Rank of Past Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies. I was exalted into Wattle Royal Arch Chapter No.42 and currently hold the Grand Office of Deputy Grand Inspector of Workings. I am also a member of the North Qld Preceptory No. 2, Bethlehem Conclave Red Cross of Constantine, Royal Order of Scotland, Worshipful Society of Freemasons (Operatives) Bishopbourne Assemblage and a Foundation Member of the Customs House Assemblage, Foundation Member of Knights Templar Priests Tabernacle of the Good Shepherd, Foundation Member of W.H. Green Masonic Study Circle and District Recorder 31st Degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite District of Queensland Far North.
My involvement in the Order of the Secret Monitor commenced in 1983 being inducted into the J.S. Popham Conclave No. 7. I was Installed as Worthy Supreme Ruler in 1991 and held the Office of Recorder from 1993 to 2006. My service in Grand Conclave includes Grand Steward 1994, Assistant Grand Standard Bearer 1996, Grand Visitor 1999-2002, conferred as Past Grand Guide in 2001, Grand Counsellor 2004, Grand Chancellor 2005 and being appointed Deputy Grand Supreme Ruler in 2006. I an now serving my second term as Deputy Grand Supreme Ruler.
