Benefits

Bond Head Parkette

Bond Head Parkette - Spring

We are very proud of the Bond Head Parkette (see photos) which our society plants and maintains throughout the year. This is a small corner of empty land at the intersection of County Roads 27 and 88 in Bond Head which we have tranformed to a place where you can sit and rest. There are two benches, one in sun and one in shade with beautiful flower beds for the community to enjoy. We have installed a wide walking path for pedestrians, making it suitable for wheelchairs and mothers with strollers. The concrete urns and flower beds are always in bloom and in winter are decorated for the season. This is also the site of the historical society marker recognizing the "Old Plank Road" which was used by the early settlers of Ontario. All this would not have been possible without the dedicated volunteers of the "Bond Head and District Horticultural Society" and being the recipient of a grant from the "Ontario Trillium Foundation" enabling us to fulfil this dream. We are always improving the Parkette and next year, once again, will enter it in the "Communities in Bloom" competition. Please visit this beautiful spot and let us know what you think. We hope you enjoy it.
