The Pixie-Bob Blue List Registry

The Blue List Registry is the brain child of Carol Ann Brewer, the breed founder. It is not just an indication of the cat's pedigree - ancestral lines - but an official Registry. If a cat is not on the Blue List Registry, to be blunt, it is not 'Blue Listed', whatever its pedigree happens to be. Saying a cat is 'Blue List eligible' is like saying it is 'TICA eligible'... it means nothing unless the cat is actually registered.

It is an unfortunate truth that while many breeders claim that they have Blue List Pixie-Bobs they have never even submitted them to the Registry for a review. Yes, that's right... a review. Even a cat of very good lines might be rejected if it has more than one major fault (re: the Show standard) or more than three minor flaws. You can ask to see the certificate proving that a breeder's cats are truly what they claim them to be. However, another important resource for anyone considering the purchase of a Pixie-Bob is the website of the International Pixie-Bob Conservancy.

The Blue List Registry is operated by a closed group of devoted Pixie-Bob breeders - most of whom are the first breeders who struggled for the breed's recognition by TICA. They are also known as the Pixie-Bob Founding Board. This is a very small breed-devoted organization that is operated independantly of any other cat association. Please click on the certificate below to learn more about the Blue List program. You will be transported to the official website of the Pixie-Bob Founding Board and they are the best authority for explaining how the Blue List Registry operates.

On this website, you will be able to identify the officially Blue Listed cats from a list published online by the Pixie-Bob Founding Board. Their owners/breeders will also be able to display the following image in their advertising and on their websites.

Why is it important to get a Blue List cat? Well, the answer is simply quality... both in terms of the cat's pedigree and in their conformation to the Show standard. This breed is far more than a cat with a short tail and there are simply too many people who are willing to exploit the public's lack of awareness. So please do your research carefully before you arrange to purchase a 'Blue List eligible' kitten and be sure to obtain a cat of true quality. You may avoid a lot of disappointment.
