| Acording historical data Balneario Solís used to be a Charruas´ town (the natives of the area were conquered by the spanish conquerors). The origin of the name is still under discussion, some agree to the theory that of this place was the place where Juan Díaz De Solís died as a result of struggle with the natives; just when he discovered the River "de la Plata" (1516). Perhaps a workplace for the leather industry in the age of spanish domination. General Burgueño bought what is nowadays Solís and Bellavista resorts to the spanish goverment and José Ramirez. | |
