"The last thing we need in this society is more intoxicated people on our highways, in our workplaces, in our schools or colleges, or in our homes. Keeping the best interests of all our citezens in mind, i cannot in good conscience support any legalization matter that would legalize marijuana in Michigan."- Senator Bill Bullard, Rep. district 15 "In the State of Michigan it is already legal to use marijuana for medical reasons as perscribed by a doctor."- Senator Joe Young, Jr, Dem. district 1 "I have some genuine concerns with this issue because of my opposition to illegal drugs and the high corrollation between marijuana use and the escalation that it often leads to in more serious drug use." - Senator Mike Goschka, Rep. district 33 (Go to Michigan Politics for more)
OPINIONS FROM THE HOUSE
Who in there right mind can say that marijuana is more dangerous than alcohol? That's is the question that needs to be answered. If we can get medical cures from other plants then way can't we get medical cures from marijuana? Another question that needs to be answered is that why hemp is illegal? How many have you bumped into on the street and they were stoned from hemp? If hemp can produce a million different things then why aren't we using it? If money and ignorant polititions wasn't such a problem this wouldn't be where its at today. Look at alcohol, the police everywhere pull somebody over every night for drinking and driving. These people can kill somebody. A lot people get very violent after drinking alcohol, and half the time people who might smoke a little bit of marijuana can't even get up off of the couch. I would like to hear from an officer of the law tell which is harder to arrest, a drunk, or someone who is stoned? So if you have any questions about that was wrote above or would like to add anything to this, just send some e-mail to this section labeled "Buzzd' Opinion".

FACT
More than 723,000 individuals were arrested for marijuana violations in 2001. Eight - Nine percent of those were charged with marijuana possession only.
