The Neapolitan Mastiff
Mastino Napolitano
Mastin Napolitano
Italian Mastiff
Neo
The Neo is a very large
bred, Weighing as much as 180 lbs. And can stand as tall as 30". This bred
was used as a home guardian. They are excellent home, property and personal
protection dogs. They also make nice companion dogs. This massive bred
does not need alot of exercise, But is just happy lying at your feet. At
a young age the Neapolitan Mastiff puppy will bond immensely with owner
and family. It is this bond that makes the neapolitan mastiff such a great
guard dog. They are aloof and can be tolerant with strangers. This
is natural with the Neo, NOT a learned behavior.
The Neapolitan Mastiff
can be well behaved around children, with proper obedience.
It is best to raise
the Neo Pup with children, the earlier the better.
There are many clubs
that recognize the Neapolitan Mastiff. Although the Neo is considered a
rare breed, there are quite a few in the United States. They are considered
a Rare breed because they are not recognized with the AKC.
(American Kennel Club)
But they are registered
with the USNMC
(United States Neapolitan
Mastiff Club)
which is the largest
registry in the United States for the Neapolitan Mastiff.
The Neo is now being
accepted by the AKC-FSS.
(American Kennel Club
- Foundation Stock Services)
This does NOT allow
the Neo to be shown at AKC events, YET.
Many clubs are turning
there paper work into the AKC-FSS now for registration. This is the FIRST
steps to becoming AKC recognized. But could take many years in doing so.
The ANMA
(American Neapolitan
Mastiff Association)
Who no loners registers
dogs or litters, but turns there papers into the AKC-FSS.
There are other registries
as well.
Our dogs are registered
with the USNMC.
