The Bush Administration has refused to renew our humanitarian aid licenses; hence, without US permits, our vessels, their owners and our many, many volunteers are incapable of any further efforts to transport food and medicine to the Cuban people. It is a shameful situation we find ourselves in: unable to help our desperate friends and neighbors merely 90 miles from our marinas here in Key West.
It is all for political expediency in order to accumulate financial handouts from the hardline Cuban exile community in Miami. Bear this in mind when you vote for a new president in November.
