Meetings

Guests are welcome at our membership meetings - held on the first Tuesday of each month from 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM. The meeting is usually in the private dining room at the Dough Roller Restaurant on Rte 3 South in Crofton MD.

Most meetings feature guest speakers following a brief business agenda covering upcoming activities and announcements. Dinner is optional.

Trail Rides

The club sponsors monthly trail rides, usually taking place the 1st Saturday of the month. Our travels have taken us all over Maryland and even out of state to sample favorite and new-found trails ... some with optional overnights.

We usually break into informal slow, medium and fast groups for the pleasure of our diverse collection of horses, riders and gaits.

For pictures and more information, click on the Trail Rides  link at the top of the page.

Parades

You do not have to invest more money in fancy clothing or tack to ride in parades with us!

As always, we are promoting the diversity of our club members and our horses, whether they are backyard friends or breeding stallions for trail or show.

The attire usually reflects your style of riding; our paraders include traditional Show Plantation, Hunt, Western, Period Costume, and even Side-saddle and Driving carts.

The club proceeds down the parade route in Baltimore MD during the November Holiday Parade

We make annual appearances in the Washington DC "National Cherry Blossom Parade,"   the "Baltimore Holiday Parade" at Thanksgiving and the Preakness Celebration Parade in May.

Our travels have included the Philadelphia PA "Thanksgiving Day Parade," and we especially like the smaller community parades, too. Glen Burnie at Memorial Day and Severna Park for the 4th of July have been great experiences for us.

Demonstrations

Although we were originally founded to promote the versatility of the flat-shod Tennessee Walking Horse, our demonstrations have evolved to feature multiple breeds and gaits.

Our attendance at fairs, shows and other special events (including the Washington International Horse Show) affords people of all ages the opportunity to recognize different breeds and gaits.

Horse Shows, Clinics & More

It has been said that "there is nothing members of the Chesapeake Club will not or cannot do and have a great time doing it!"

Our annual All Breed Open Versatility Horse Show is not only affordable but is one of the few shows that encourages all breeds and gaits to compete side-by-side.  This show is pointed for Walking and Racking horses.
