Céspedes came into our family tree with a famous poet in Cuba, Ursula Céspedes y Orellano.  She married Gines Escanaverino Linares in Cuba.

The Céspedes line has some pretty interesting individuals, including the leader of the War for Independance in 1868, Carlos Manuel Céspedes.  Click on the links below to view their biographies, written in Spanish by one of the descendants of the name, and a new friend I made on the net through my research, Manuel  Aguirre Botello. I also met Ana Maria Guadayol, who is a descendant of Gines Escanaverino and Ursula Céspedes.  I am planning to meet with her soon, and surely I will have more info and a wonderful new relative to trade stories with!

Although the Céspedes family is not directly related with me, some of the ancestors from that lineage are connected to me through the marriage into the Escanaverino family by Ursula Céspedes y Orellano..
