Daphne Kristel Sulk
May 1, 1982-November 1997
My Daphne was a beautiful child filled with
the hope and happiness of the promise of life.
Her infectious enthusiasm was spread
throughout the family
and brought sunshine to each day of my life.
She was the youngest of
five children, my baby!
Daphne blessed our lives
for 15 wonderful years.
Daphi, as she was known
to those who loved her,
had a troubled adolescence.
But things were turning around for her
and getting much brighter.
She had just started 9th grade at
the Junior High School,
full of excitement and hope.
That was until she met the man who
would take everything away from her.
The man who took her life,
the life of her unborn child,
and who broke my heart.
He lived nearby; ironically,
she met him on her way
to her teen support group. What happened
after that was learned the hard way,
after many exhaustive hours of investigation.
In late October she told
me she was pregnant.
What I didn’t know was by whom
and that he was threatening her.
Three days later I came home to find her gone.
Scared and alone, she didn’t
know what to do.
She was gone 11 agonizing days.
Little did I know that soon the whole world
would drop out from beneath me.
On November 11th, 1997, at 11:00 am,
Daphne was found. Her frozen nude
body was discovered partially
covered with snow in the
Pole Mountain region in the Medicine Bow
National Forest, Albany County, Wyoming.
She was savagely beaten and
stabbed over 17 times.
He, Kevin Robinson, 38, was arrested
a short time afterward.
He was tried and convicted of
Voluntary Manslaughter, Solicitation,
and Indecent Liberties
with a Minor, and sentenced to the
Wyoming State Penitentiary for 22 to 29 years.
He murdered my Daphi, my angel,
because she refused to have an abortion!
We never found out where or when she was
killed. In her memory we honor the days,
November 8 thru November 11.
