The files that are listed here are add-ons for BasicLinux 3. All of them are tested working on BL3.40. To install any one of these packages, simply download it and use BL3's pkg command to install it.
For other BL-related files, view my main page.
gphoto2.tgz allows you to access most serial port digital cameras, as well as some USB cameras, with BL3. You can browse the list of cameras that are supported by the latest version of gphoto2, although you should note that not all of the listed cameras are supported by this particular version of gphoto2. If you have a USB camera, you will need to insert usbcore.o, and then usb-uhci.o or usb-uhci.o (these three modules are all available from the BL3 website's "additional modules" section). After you have inserted usbcore.o, execute: "mount -t usbdevfs /proc/bus/usb /proc/bus/usb". You can then use gphoto2 normally.
ltmodem.tgz is Ken Martwick's package, which allows you to use various software modems (specifically, the package supports software modems that use the Lucent LT "Windows" modem chipset) in Linux. This package will only work if you are using BL3.40; it does not work on any earlier versions.
mplayer.tgz contains a large (3MB compressed package, which expands to a 7MB+ uncompressed binary) and versatile media player that will play and modify almost any audio or video file. It plays most OGG, AVI, MOV, WMV, WMA, and MPG files that are available from the Internet.
naim.tgz contains naim version 0.11.8.1, which enables you to chat on the IRC, AIM, or ICQ messaging networks. It can be run from the Linux console or in an xterm/rxvt.
