"How I Survived the Nashville Music Scene
"

Dave Kyle's book is still available from Author House Publishing. It is a never before told account of his experiences as a musician, writer and broker for some of the world's most famous musical instruments and their owners.

As a feature writer for Vintage Guitar magazine, his cover stories include Chet Atkins, Duane Allman, Carl Perkins, Roy Rogers, Mike Bloomfield, Elvis Presley, Marty Stuart and many others.

Kyle gathered some interesting stories while touring Europe, Asia and North America. The book also gives several accounts of time spent playing for  a staff band on a weekly television series in Nashville. The program featured many new recording artists as well as established acts.

After deciding to retire from road life, he started Dave Kyle Guitars trading in vintage and celebrity owned instruments. Among the more famous of these were George Harrison's Rosewood Fender Telecaster (pictured), Elvis's Rosewood Tele, Buck Owens's red, white & blue Tele, John Lennon's Mellotron, Duane Allman's first guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Junior), and several instruments used by Waylon Jennings.

Click the guitar below for a sample of my work with Blues player, Mark Cook. There are short clips of my vocals on tracks 7, 8 & 9 with a little slide work, using Steve Rusin's '34 National on track 7. Thanks to Mark for including me on this album!

EnRoute Music's PorchBoard Bass
I use one of these and if you try it, you will too! Click on the picture above to go to their web site. This is the coolest thing since sliced bread. I rarely perform without it. All you have to do is plug it in and tap your foot. It sounds like a bass drum, however loud or soft you want. It makes a solo acoustic guitar sound

HUGE!
