Changes in technology have made our world a much smaller place. It's not just travel that makes it possible to go from one place to another in a matter of hours vs. days. We have computers that bring us internet connection & email so our once huge & daunting Earth is now traveled in seconds when it comes to exploring and keeping in contact with family & friends who can be living anywhere on the planet.
Other changes are being noticed in our world. As progress is made with industry moving to other countries around the globe, there are signs of decline to the environment. Is this progress?
It appears the same care we take to accurately convey thoughts to avoid misunderstandings,
should be used to protect our world. Errors in either selecting the wrong word or
making the wrong choice about conservation, can each have catastrophic outcomes.
Just like it takes time to rebuild relationships which may have been damaged by
communication errors, it takes time to repair damage to our environment. Sadly,
in both cases, some damage can take a much longer time to correct while other damage
can never be rebuilt...once it's lost, it's gone.
Think about what we have, what we have already lost, and what will eventually happen to our world if we don't do our part now. Let's do our best to assure it thrives under our care.
Don't know where to start? That was my response after watching the documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth". I felt overwhelmed and intimidated. I'm just one person. What can I do? Fortunately, there are lots of suggestions everywhere, including online and, most likely, within your own community. If each of us take steps to help, then "one" becomes "many" and that means hope. Please join me and explore some of those options. I've tried to make it easy by putting resources together for quick access to information. Help me share with others the suggestions of how we can live on a healthier planet. Let's get started - we've got lots to do!
