The FREE ZIMBABWE position on the

MOVEMENT FOR DEMOCRATIC CHANGE

Our position on the opposition Movement for Democratic Change:

1. The MDC offers the only real opposition to Robert Mugabe and ZANU-PF.
2. The MDC promotes a transparent democratic government.
3. The MDC  supports free enterprise and a free market economy
4. The MDC has renounced corruption and vowed to prosecute corrupt officials.
5. The MDC rejects racism and has the support of a majority of white farmers.

Therefore, we endorse the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) and encourage financial support of the organization.

The original position of Free Zimbabwe was that of NON VIOLENT political action.

However, given the recent well document incidents of a concerted effort by Mugabe to

1. Intimidate the general electorate,
2. Beat and murder opposition supporters,
3. Destroy the economy of Zimbabwe by the invasion of white owed farms, and
4. Rape, murder and intimidate white supporters of the MDC.

We must therefore support the legitimate rights of the MDC to defend themselves and their supporters from universally recognized terrorism.
