FREEDOM TO MARRY COLLABORATIVE A partnership of gay and non-gay state and national activists and funders launched the Freedom to Marry Collaborative ("FMC") - a new organization to facilitate a sustained and affirmative campaign to win the freedom to marry for same-sex couples. FMC will work closely with key groups in key states and provide a national context to catalyze progress toward marriage equality. Based in New York, FMC launched in early 2003 with five staff members and a program focused on organizing and technical assistance, ally-building and outreach, communications, and a substantial regranting capacity to support gay and non-gay working partners.
