Gina Rae is a Miami native, born and raised in South Miami, attending Palmetto Senior High and receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Miami, including overseas study in Cortona, Italy.
Shortly after graduation she found a professional outlet for her creativity in the world of graphic design, winning numerous local awards for her designs and the accolades of her employers along the way. While working several years as a Graphic Designer she decided in 1998 to devote more time to her life, the outdoors, her animals, and photography.
Artist Statement:
Gina personally performs all the creative aspects involved in her work, exposing each photograph with available light to capture the natural color and beauty of the subject. No filters or additional lighting are used during the image taking, nor are they manipulated during the traditional 35mm developing techniques. Each photograph print is then mounted and matted using acid-free museum board and framed as the need presents itself.
