About My G40

I bought this G40 in September 2001 as a replacement for my 94 Polo coupe. Its a 1992 model so it came with clear front indicators and half tinted rear lamps.

I consider myself very lucky to have found this car,I had been thinking about importing one from the UK when i heard about this one for sale less than 5 miles from my house. I live in Ireland and there were only 2 G40s originally sold here and mine is one of them!

The only problem with that is that VW garages normally dont have a clue what it is!!

The car itself is almost completly standard apart from Koni shocks and a Sebring back box, It even has its original radio still fitted.

I ran the car on the 15" wheels from my old polo for a day, it looked great but thy rubbed the arces and the ride was awfull,so it was back to the original BBS alloys,which i think look great but they can be a pain to keep clean.

The original radio has now been removed and replaced with a Blaupunkt head unit a 10 Disc CD changer,I have held on to the original radio in case I ever want to re-fit it.

Since the photos were taken I have managed to get hold of a G40 front grill badge,which was a real pain to get hold of. My local VW dealer was no help at all.

The Supercharger has now been sent to Jabbasport for a stage 4 rebuild at 94158 miles.

Supercharger removal and refitting instructions

The Supercharger has been refitted and run in,It has made a fairly big difference with the car pulling much smoother now, Hopefully I will have it rolling roaded soon so I can find out what difference it made.
