Fort
Mickey

It
was 1989, the day was warm, the breeze was slight.
The smell of fresh cut grass in the air. The sound
of garden tractors cutting the grass off in the distance.
A small plane flying overhead. Mickey and three friends
where up in the fort. A fort that was rather legendary
in the area. It's floor began at two stories high.
The
only way to enter was by a suspension bridge. One
tree connected to another. Climbing one tree and then
crossing the bridge gave access to this dreamy fort.
"I
got it." Mickey said. As he was carrying a two
liter of cherry coke he had borrowed from his house.
The
fort was on the corner of two streets. It was part
of a large pine tree. From a sitting position on the
roof of the fort, most of the development could be
viewed. Sounds of video games resonated from within
the fort. Yes, this treefort had power and included
a TV set.
"Sneaky
fort." Kidd said to Mickey. Surprising Mickey.
They were both at the base of the fort. The other
members of the Sneak Force arrived on bike.
"We
heard about it, can we check it out?" Kidd asked.
"Okay."
Mickey said.
One
by one, the kids climbed up the one tree, then over
the bridge, then down into the fort. The Sneak Force
admired the size and height of this fort. A voice
was then heard from below.
Mickey
announced, "It's my mom!"
Mickey's
mom had made up snacks for the bunch. Instead of climbing
down, Mickey lowered down the bucket by a rope.
"Put
it in the bucket mom." Mickey shouted.
Secretively,
the Sneak Force snapped pictures of the fort with
their Zipsnicks. This for their lasting collection.
"We're
on our way, thanks. Your fort is the sneakiest one
around!" said Kidd.
