Welcome to Nature Ridge Kennels. My name is Karen. My oldest daughter, Lauraly (who also has made this website) and I breed purebred UKC Reg'd Beagles, (tri-colour and occ'l chocolates) Unregistered Pugs (fawn and black) and we cross breed the beagles and pugs. Most in demand are the Puggles, which are 1/2 Pug and 1/2 Beagle. Our other mixes are 3/4 Beagle and 1/4 Pug (Peagle) 1/2 Pug, and the 3/4 Pug and 1/4 Beagle. We also breed 7/8 Pug, as well as 15/16 Pug. These look very much like purebred Pugs, but the price is lower.
The Puggles have the good temperments of both the beagle and the pug, which are both known to be excellent with children and very loving.  The Beagle, the Pug and the Puggles demand attention, get it and then demand more! The beagle is a scent hound and known to wander. Ears go OFF when they are on a scent. The pug stays right by your side. The puggle will wander a little ways away but generally is not a runner or wanderer.
Puggles have curly tails like the Pug, and longer ears than a Pug though not as long as the Beagle. The 3/4 Beagle has a longer nose and a curved tail, while the 3/4 Pug  look just like a pug but slightly longer nose than a Pug. The 7/8 and 15/16 could pass for purebreds although they are not! Below are links to see pictures of some of our dogs.
A little bit about us. We have a large family of 3 girls and 1 boy ranging in age from 4 to 20 yrs.old. Our dogs and puppies are very well socialized with children. My husband also talks and plays with the puppies so they are accustomed to men's voices, children and women as well as household noises--TV, vacuum cleaner, children shouting and laughing, phone ringing, etc. And a busy, noisy household it is because my kids are all home everyday as they are homeschooled. Unless we are outside, generally you will find someone home and in the house at all times.
If you tell me what you are looking for in a puppy, I will try to steer you to the pup that I feel would be most suitable for you and your household or lifestyle. The end choice is yours to make but we've been watching the pups since birth and know their temperments.
We live on a small hobby farm outside of Niagara Falls with our dogs, cats, a small flock of sheep, 1 goat and a few chickens/ducks. Lauraly and her husband Tommy have two retired Thoroughbred race horses, named Willow and Sequoia. I have a Standardbred mare named Aspen for the little children to ride. All of them are excellent horses, both in temperment and to ride.
I've even rode them before! We also have a  pony named Comet who is semi-blind but still a great pony, and we love him dearly. His buddy Calista (or his "eyes" as she leads him around the property and he follows) is a cute little pony mare. As much as I love the horses, sheep, goats and other animals, my favorite are my donkies. I have two. One is a black standard Donkey named Walter, and the other is a smaller grey Donkey named Sassafras or Sassy for short, who protect our sheep. To see pictures of these animals, use the "To The Farm" button below, which will also take you to Lauraly's personal website. (I have a special picture of Walter at the bottom of this page!)
I only accept certified check or cash. NO CHEQUES.
All of my puppies are vet checked, have 1st shots, are dewormed and are sold healthy. If there is some minor defect, you will be informed before any sale is made. I also have some adult beagles for sale and know other breeders of Pugs and Beagles. I also know of breeders of other breeds of dogs. I can refer you to them if I don't have what you are looking for.
Don't forget to bookmark the site. Just a note about geocities, sometimes the server is down, and you can't access the site. It is usually back up within anywhere from 5-30 minutes.
Thanks for stopping by!        Karen (and Lauraly)
