North Iowa
Sheltie Rescue
Offering Second Chances to Homeless Shelties
North Iowa Sheltie
Rescue was organized to assist Shetland Sheepdogs, also known as
Shelties, in the state of Iowa, who, through no fault of their own,
are surrendered, unwanted, or abandoned. We are a newly
established, all volunteer organization.
The Shelties live in
our network of volunteers homes, not in kennels or a shelter. This
allows us to evaluate their temperament and allows them to adjust to
a home setting. They are fully vetted, including spay or neuter,
brought current on all shots, wormed, treated for fleas and ticks,
heartworm tested, and started on preventative medications before
they take the next step to their permanent, approved, responsible,
forever homes. If you are looking for a new best friend, opt to
adopt a rescue.
