The Hard Rock casinos (operated by Grosvenor Casinos) opened in Manchester in June 2002 and London in November 2002. Both casinos have their own cash chips, but use the same roulettes, up to table 6 in London and 7 colours on each table.

The limited edition chips (grand opening and Christmas) are NCV (no cash value) chips sold in the casinos and not for use on the tables. They are included here as they are sold in the casinos, as opposed to the various other chips sold on the Hard Rock website and in the Cafes which were not available in the casinos, including the pre-opening chips for both London and Manchester (as well as the Nottingham chip which commemorates the opening of a HR cafe - there is no HR Nottingham Casino).

The Hard Rock casinos are the first to offer true Vegas style casual gaming (within the limits allowed by law) including no dress code, alcoholic drinks brought to the tables by the waitresses/waiters (still have to pay though!) and music throughout the casino. Proving very popular there are expected to be more, especially when the gaming laws are fully relaxed to allow entrance without membership which is still a requirement in UK casinos.
