My story about Magic, starts at 1963, when I was only 6 years old, and I was at kindergarden. At that pre-school, named "El Nido" (The nest),  used to go a clown, named Pimbolo and his father, Mr. Amadeo Cavallini, to do some jugling and magic. I still remember those shows, as well as the amazed I was, witht the"Cut & restored rope" or "the milk poured into the newspaper"....
A cuple of years later, i've got my first magic set, "Merit" traded, and model #1 - the biggest.
At that moment, the know-how to do those amazing tricks was a really adventure.

At my  first grade at school, my teacher "keeps-off" my first magic wand  'cause playing at  classroom. Who would say at that moment that this teacher will cross my magic live again years later. But there were a lot of wands, decks of cards, boxes, balls, and little tricks that "kept confined" at school  during all my school-time.

When I was eleven years old, my parents must do a trip, so I went for a while at  grandma's home.

My Grandma' , to "keep me busy", gave me to read some chapters of that encyclopedia "the treasures of the Youth".


There I discovered mor magical secrets. At last I knew and could do the "cut & restore rope", to vannish objects into a hanky, sewed by myself, or to reapear objects from an empty tube. Those were great vacations out home.

Three monts later I came back to my parent's home, and 15 days after, my grandma passes away, due a brain aneurism. My pain was only released when I knew she had legged to me the colection "The treasure of the youth" that so good was our companion in our live together.

Was almost at this years, that I had to cover and check out all bookstores and librarys looking for more magic. There was a very difficult time. there was no importation at all, so the books I could find had more than a decade of printed.

My colection "course of Magic", by Robert Veno, (From Barcelona, Spain) was found book by book, chapter by chapter, due a frenetic search at  "The Family" bookstores, and bought by myself, with my tips, earned at home.

Twice came to Lima "Tihani Circus" between '68-and '70s. There I discovered my hability to develope secrets. To understand misdirection, as well as the  showmanship needed to perform a good act, helped me keep alive that sleeping beauty magic.
"La Gran Revista" (the great newsshow) was a tv show at '70-'73, and scheduled a Idol: "The Great Magician Marcel"



I did not miss a program!. even it was not sheduled at the best time (I was at School, and the show started time later than my "sleep-time").
I copyed and developed some of those routines, for my use later.
Indeed, I remember that some of those programs, Magician Marcel was switched by other performer: a fakir. That made me mad. Time later, that fakir wil lturn to be my great friend and asesor in magic.

I think that there were those teen loves, joined to the University studies and the just earned job, that kept me away from Magic for a while, even always broom on each friend or family meeting.

1980. The company where I worked, send me to Japan, to upgrade my knowledge.
There, i discover "Tenyo" props. and my dear firend, Magic, reborns.
I discovered the secret of the Linking Rings, die predictions and the amusement of the Arm Chopper.

I had to return from Japan just days before my marriage, so bought my smoking suit at Japan. It will be used not only for my wedding, but my magical  performances. But, the one that I wanted (beautifull golden, on the shower window) was not on sale, so i had to take the conventional black one.



So, back to Lima, just married, and 23 years old, I kept in touch with Tenyo, and all those magic dealers. Zombie, dancing cane, Fantasio's clasics, took me one step more  to the pro-magic.

The first birthday of my daugther Karina, in 1985, restarts my magic touch.That clown who did the show at the party, was the grandson of that lovely lady, my teacher at first grade of school in 1964.
And I joined with that clown, and became partners. I still was not able to do shows by myself.But I wanted to see magic, so I adopted the form of "Efects-creative". Drawn, build, write the speech, show the moves, modeling the magician. Not in myself, but to that clown.
Now I know that Mario Barbier (that was his name- and still is) had a good client list, and was capable to do that what I wish to do and do not feel able to.
My audience fear, became a terrible monster. I only was capable to do magic at small meetings, under close-up style.

Gustavo Lorgia, a good colombian magician, visits Lima between 1986-1988. My knowledge to "see" magic, makes me able to copy every trick, and add them to the Magician Barbier's routine.



That magician was no longer at showbussisnes. He did not have the "magical touch".However, one of his assistents, wished to learn. And I decided to teach him the little I knew. But, this "Apperntice", became a real magic entusias. Joey and me, were together on each show he performed. We build all the image, style, theatrical touch, and busisnes relation needed to become "Giorhini" the best peruvian magician at the time. Soon, we were two partners searching for new effects and magical learning.

This "society" was fruitfull: training, contest, and join-in the showmanship world and pro-magic world. Tours to lectures, making "how to do magic" videos, sellig little tricks on carnivals, and even the  100% peruvian show of magic (all the stuff was done in Lima).

Near 1997, my fear of Stage, is wiped out by the help of my "stage-mother"

Anabella Flores, from Uruguay, shows me the tips that vanisches the "stage syndrom", and audience fear.
Long time ago, I was an "adopted son" for the "Tiza -Teatro taller" of Carlos La Torre, to do theatrical plays for kids, so I decide to go for stage.
My Magical name: "Khalid".



I took the name from a 1400's magician, lider of the Caderians tribe, mussulman line.
This magician, used to unmask those who used Magic to became "god sendeds."

As a performing pro- magician, I have some years.
Khalid still does close-up shows, but the technics, speech, mistery, on each trick, has been improved a lot.

Now, I do close up shows at restaurants.
besides, keep giveing tips to actors,doing F/x to their plays, doing magic for TV commercials, performing magic shows for kids birthdays, working with another good magician, Jose Rios, and grown-up shows for adults.
Importing and crafting props for magicians, and teaching magic at schools, and private lessons.

I still do not reach my goals,There is a lot of road to go. And magic never ends to learn.I just hope to get fun, amaze, and tell my audience, that even I am a standard Human been, if U put a little of effort, we can do things that seems supernaturals.
